We already know that this year has been an incredible year for women and we’ve listed some of these kickass women in our 9 Egyptian Women Who Slayed 2018 article. It seems like the list just keeps getting bigger and better. Maha Amer, a 20-year-old sophomore student, just concluded 2018 with a sweeping victory for Heliopolis Club securing Egypt’s national title for both women and men.
According to Enterprise, Maha Amer claimed the 1-meter and 3-meter springboards as well as the mixed synchro-meter with her partner Mohab Mohaymen, Egypt’s Olympian and Heliopolis diver who also secured first places in all three boards: one, three and top board events.
Her performance is said to qualify her for the World Championships in July in South Korea. Furthermore, the duo are currently preparing for the upcoming 2020 Tokyo Olympics representing Egypt.
