According to Egypt Today, Egyptians will be finally escaping the long lines at the traffic booths since a new governmental website, under the name ‘Egypt Traffic,’ will make issuing car licenses and paying traffic fines much easier and accessible through their online website.
Car owners will be able to renew and issue new licenses and have them sent to their homes. Moreover, any traffic violators will be receiving a warning on their phones with the information of the type of violation.
The website will be operating under the umbrella of the Interior Ministry website that also manages services of the General Directorate of Passports, Traffic Offices and Civil Status Authority.
This shift is set to take place as a result of the government’s bid to digitize all it’s services and institutions.
