I love a good life hack, especially one that helps me become more efficient and can accommodate my fast paced lifestyle. I usually wake up and have a maximum of 30 minutes to drink coffee, put food in my system, look presentable for work and fly out the door.
Here are a few things that help me save time and get out of the house quicker.
Meal Prep
Prepping your meals the night before is a great way to save time and energy in the morning. I usually pack and organize my lunches before heading to bed. All I have to do in the morning is pull it out of the fridge and take it to work.
Using a hair dryer to flatten out crinkled shirts
If I’m wearing a shirt that has a little crinkle in it but don’t have time to sit and iron, I usually just use my hair dryer to flatten it out and make it look smoother. It actually works like magic and looks just as good as being ironed.
Showering the night before
Showering is a very long and slow process for me, especially since I have really long hair that takes a lot of time to dry. I always shower and dry my hair before bed and put it up in a bun. When i wake up in the morning, I take my bun out and have nice wavy locks, ready for work.
Picking out an outfit before bed
Picking out an appropriate work outfit can be time consuming and irritating in the morning, especially when you can barely keep your eyes open. Try picking out your outfit before going to sleep and save yourself extra time to do other things in the morning.
Setting an alarm 30 minutes earlier
I usually set my alarm 30 minutes earlier then when I intend to be out of bed. This gives me space to snooze and stretch and relax a little before having to jump up and run around.
A morning makeup kit
I have a lot of makeup, and by a lot, I mean mountains and mountains of it. To help keep my morning makeup routine quick, I have a little kit set aside with only the products I’ll be needing before work.
Check the weather forecast
I always check the weather forecast before leaving the house so I know what to be expecting throughout the day.
Put gas in your car the day before heading to work
Finding a gas station on the way to work can be time consuming and when you find one it is usually heavily congested. I always make sure to fill up on gas the night before heading to work.
