The Egyptian startup, Trella, revolves around helping shippers and carriers improve their services. They allow shippers to reduce costs via improving load utilization and efficiency, help carriers through connecting them with shippers through direct bookings and give carriers the chance to track their shipments in real time while keeping an eye on their transportation trends and overall performance through compiling reports.

Through a pre-seed funding led by Algebra Ventures, the almost three-month-old startup garnered over $600,000. Their CEO, Omar Hagrass, told us that he “noticed that the majority of shipping in the trucking industry runs on very poor efficiency,” and that “it maybe new to the Middle East but platforms similar to ours that aim at optimizing the shipping industry are already spreading in the United States and Europe.”
