The First Egyptian National Council for People with Different Abilities

The Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi has granted his approval on drafting a law, to create a National Council for differently abled people.

According to Egyptian Streets: “People with special needs in Egypt represent about 10 percent of the total population,” asserted the president during the International Day of Persons with Different Abilities Event.”

With a separate body, the newly founded council will have the autonomy to bring their rights to the light, whilst also providing assistance to those with the same needs.
