First off, Ramadan Kareem! Since the holy month is finally upon us, it’s time to focus on all the beautiful and spiritual things this time represents. Giving back, family gatherings, inner peace, self-restraint and the all-around positive vibes. With all that being said, taking care of your health and well-being whilst fasting is of utmost importance. A lot of people find it difficult to focus at work due to a lack of coffee and breakfast in their system but good news is, there are ways that you can help yourself out.

Let’s get down to business and talk Suhoor! Most Egyptians homes have a similar looking Suhoor spread that may entail: Flava beans (Foul), Yogurt, Eggs, cheeses, Falafel, labna and balady bread. Restaurants also include the same and may add mixed grills, mini shawermas and feteer. As delicious as all this sounds, it might not necessarily be the best for you.

Here are a few things to keep in mind while prepping your next Suhoor meal!
Via Mashed

Consume fruits like watermelon, pineapple, melon, grapefruit, orange and berries because they are all high in water content. Drinking these fruits as fresh juices will also assist with stabilizing your blood sugar for longer periods of time.

As well as downing a healthy amount of miner water, try adding coconut water to the mix. Coconut water is known for being extremely hydrating.

Via Honeywhatscooking

Include eggs, organic cheeses, yogurt, salmon and avocados to your Suhoor to help you with your intake of vital nutrients.

Via everydayhealth

Avoid caffeine since it actually dehydrates you and may make you feel worse throughout your fast.

Via localbozo

Avoid eating foods like cereal and bread since consuming dry processed carbs will cause your blood sugar and energy to drop sooner than usual.

Good luck and we hope these tips are useful to you!
