For the First Time Bedouin Women Take Lead of The Sinai Trail

Breaking the entrenched norms of Egypt’s Bedouin customs, Bedouin women have come out for the first time as tour guides on the Sinai trail.

The Sinai trail is an Egyptian project, where local Bedouins work as tour guides to promote their own tourism.

However, these hiking trails extending from the Gulf of Aqaba to the top of Mount Catherine, were always held and guided by men. But it wasn’t long before the Bedouin women decided to lash out the customs that confined their work and existence only to household errands.
