Internships 2020: Here Are 6 Opportunities That Caught Our Attention

If there is one thing we can still agree on about the normality of life it’s that current high school and university students are looking for summer internships. (If you aren’t looking for an internship, reconsider your options).

This summer, however, internships look a little different in the sense that many companies and employers have decided to do ‘virtual internships’ instead.

Why Students Need To Consider Doing Virtual Internships

Sure, you’d have to wake up earlier than you normally do, but a virtual internship is a special experience. No matter where you are quarantined, all you need is internet connection and laptop to participate. You have no transportation costs, you can wear pajamas all day, and working from home means no interruption to your personal life.

Generally, working alone from home teaches you responsibility to get the job done without direct supervision. It will also teach you time management, how to avoid procrastination, and how to put away anything that distracts you for a couple of hours.

According to study.com, “virtual internships are an excellent resume booster in that they develop and demonstrate a diverse set of skills that are of high value to employers.”

If You Are Looking For An Internship, Check These Out:

1) PepsiCo Egypt’s Virtual Summer Internship

Although some offices may be resuming normal work like, PepsiCo is offering an original internship experience; an online one. The internship is applicable to all those who want to try Human Resources, Sales, Finance, and Engineering & Supply Chain

2) Unilever

If you want to be a part of a company that makes products that literally everyone uses, perhaps check out Unilever’s internships in supply chain and ‘go-to markets’. Both of which are virtual!

3) Trella

Trella also has a couple of internship opportunities open in various career paths: graphic design, marketing and finance.

4) Helm

Helm, for those who have an interest and desire to help others in society, is also doing virtual summer internships for four weeks during July or August. Helm is all about helping workplaces and organizations be able to include people with disabilities.

5) American Chamber of Commerce

For those interested in politics, business, investment and relations between countries, the American Chamber of Commerce is doing an internship program (from home) for second and third year university students from June 28 until September 30. Interested candidates should send their resumes to: recruitment@amcham.org.eg

6) Schneider Electric Egypt

Schneider Electric  Egypt, also in a virtual summer internship, is looking for undergraduates who want to learn about sustainability, automation and energy management. This program is about a month long in August for people who are studying engineering or business (in case of the business internship track).
