Spotify Is Now Available in Egypt…Sort Of

Egypt has always had a big problem with piracy and illegal downloading when it came to music, but in the past few years — thanks to applications such as Apple Music and Anghami — artists have been finally getting paid the way they deserve.

If you’ve been living under a rock and haven’t heard of Spotify, it’s a music streaming platform developed by Swedish company Spotify Technology and it’s finally available in Egypt…sort of.

It was reported earlier this year that Spotify would finally arrive in the Middle East and North Africa. That happened but with a slight catch, because Spotify has launched but only to those with invites.

A Spotify spokesperson did not deny the report but stated: “Spotify’s ultimate goal is to be available in every country, but we don’t currently have any news to share on a launch in the Middle East.”

Spotify remains the global streaming leader, with 83 million subscribers, giving you access to a world of music where you can listen to artists and albums, or create your own playlist of your favorite songs.

This is surely a step in the right direction and we can’t wait until it’s accessible to everyone in the region.
