On January 21, Monday to be specific, a total lunar eclipse will be visible for Egyptians to see. The phenomenon that is the super moon can be seen in the Middle East, Europe, Africa, the Americans and most of East Asia.
“The super moon is seen as bigger by 14% and brighter by 30%,” Ashraf Tadros, expert at the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics, told Egypt Today.
It was also reported that the optimal viewing time to see the penumbral lunar eclipse in Cairo is 6:51 am, after the beginning of the total eclipse by 10 minutes. Penumbra is the stage at which the edge of the moon starts to makes its way into the outer shadow of the Earth.
